Yes, we are drifting now. Most governmental organizations remain captured in a fantasy land where things will, somehow, return to normal soon. That was understandable as this as been a much more shattering change than most people are able to comprehend. It is becoming less understandable by the day and the active attacks on the means of controlling the pandemic is open insanity. I think a majority of the population, based on listening to people in public places, understand that there is no way back. With no national direction, other than to rat fuck everyone under you, there is no working consensus that isn't immediately politicized.
