Yes, there is a large aspect to the universe that is not physical. This is becoming real in a new way. The failure was defining mythologies as the non physical part of the universe and dismissing those as unreal. They are unreal in strict physical terms.
The quantum mechanical universe has finally permeated societies enough to shock us into, well, a new universe. That universe very clearly works much more as potential reality tied to “spooky actions at a distance”. However this works out, and the Darwinian approach may be making this more consistent, it focuses on our innate involvement in collapsing uncertainty.
I’ve come to have a great deal of interest in the materialism and the new idealist positions. This ties to our inability to say that reality is not virtual. The double negative is appropriate there.
This may be the path, if we survive as a species, to integrate ourselves consciously back into the universe we are involved in creating.
