Well stated. I can’t add anything here because I chose many years ago to live where white people are a minority. In fact here (Hawai’i) everyone is a minority. While we have assholes and problems, it’s pretty interesting how things change when everyone is what they are and the norm is actually POC. That’s actually the planetary norm, anyway. Here we narrow down identification by culture not by skin.
Funny, it is a point of pride here to not mistake someone’s cultural heritage. You don’t want to look stupid by mistaking a Tongan for a Samoan or Vietnamese for a Thai or a Korean for a Japanese. But that takes learning about everyone so you don’t make those mistakes. Luckily our kids grow up at everyone’s house learning it all.
So no big problem . . .
