…ica can be maintained. I am in my 60's. I have watched assassinations', riots, and wars in my life. I have taken part in some of these things in my counties name. Never have I felt more afraid that my country is about to go over the edge.
We carry that guilt and know the burden. At some point you put it behind you but like an old injury or the death of a spouse it is always there and reminds you sometimes.
What we are facing is doing that to a multigenerational, diverse population that is facing a bleak future in a life of tenuous opportunities. Those opportunities were destroyed by the generation that never really learned the world except as theirs by assumed privilege.
Their world is gone but they will die denying it.
