We carry that guilt and know the burden. At some point you put it behind you but like an old injury or the death of a spouse it is always there and reminds you sometimes.

What we are facing is doing that to a multigenerational, diverse population that is facing a bleak future in a life of tenuous opportunities. Those opportunities were destroyed by the generation that never really learned the world except as theirs by assumed privilege.

Their world is gone but they will die denying it.
