Trump Has Left the Cliff Edge Behind
We waited too long and what happens is no longer up to us

This was inevitable. We’ve had to ignore so much insanity while, so far, avoiding major disasters, that we became blase. Having finally been impeached, we still don’t call Trump bug fuck crazy nor state that he is surrounded by not very bright family, conspiracy wingnuts, low grade opportunists, and religious fanatics fronting for various oligarchies. All of them, of course, playing to Putin’s GRU pipers for Russia’s benefit and their own schemes.
Everyone has known for three years that this was an incredibly dangerous situation in a critical era for all of us on this planet. But the difficulty of shoveling away endless fascist lies and bullshit with no real leadership and no strong motivation to change is a recipe for exhaustion and pretending it will all go away.
I’ve said many times that ignoring Trump at this point is probably the best defense. His narcissism and delusional state requires chaos and attention and he will do whatever it takes to keep that attention. My hope was that the rational weight of the US Civil Service and all the professionals has long balanced out the political appointees and elected idiots. It is a vast, stable bureaucracy on which we rely.
That has worked up until now as we have clearly seen in the positive actins of diplomats horrified by Trump’s criminal actions with Ukraine. But we are dealing with much more than a dysfunctional and incompetent front man in the presidency. We have billionaires tied to religious radicals funding and manipulating this mess. William Barr is or became a sleeper agent for the Christian Al Qaeda.
This has created an internal power struggle between the racists, billionaires, militarists, Russian oligarchs, and mental defectives that make up what passes for a Trump regime. At the same time the Republican Party collapsed into social psychosis and full criminality. Expecting to avoid a major planetary disaster with this mix was ridiculous. Now we know.
Finally impeaching Trump and carefully presenting the evidence while refusing to play the cover up game finally pushed Trump over the cliff. The assumption that the working folks at the federal level would protect us and manage to divert the craziness is now gone. The actions of the dark forces working to tear down the system that was already shaky drove out too many good people. It took three years but our protection is gone. Our luck has run out.
Everyone on the planet is now holding their breath. Trump was allowed to order a major assassination that he had no business being allowed to do. In his addled and delusional state Trump is playing the war card to escape impeachment and buy reelection. He has no other interest and no other awareness.
Ironically Trump, in a desperate attempt to save himself, has handed great power and great risk to Ayatollah Khamenei. There will be reaction to the assassination of Qassem Soleimani but what the reaction is and when it comes is Khamenei’s call now. And no one will do anything. The US is all alone now.
This is not an issue of how nice the Iranian government is or how powerful and effective Soleimani has been, very powerful and very effective, let alone how brutal he has been. Trump has committed a very high level act of war for his own benefit. That is all that matters to him and the population of this planet is now very aware of the diseased mind behind this. The full disaster is that the US has allowed this to happen squandering what little credibility it still has.
It is up the Khamenei to determine our fate. That is not something you should give to any religious fanatic and any theocracy is composed of religious fanatics. That we have a widely hated religious regime in Iran deciding our fate in conflict with an incompetent and unstable criminal in the White House is a very bad thing.
The best solution we have is to remove Trump and all of his people now. Unfortunately we are reliant on a weak political system being destroyed by diverse forces of evil that are determined to destroy any hope in their quest for absolute power. I’m afraid that waiting for an already corrupt election is no longer a viable option but that is no longer in our control.
