Trump Cannot Resist Shoving It Down Our Throats
We will swallow almost anything slowly, but force fails

Things are becoming more apparent. Maybe uncomfortably bright for some, but that is a significant improvement over the muddled confusion of the last three years. There are several reasons for this, and each is related.
The Nevada Democratic Debate was much more significant than has been discussed by the mainstream media. Michael Bloomberg has his bluff called and then got mauled by Elizabeth Warren assisted by Bernie Sanders. Bloomberg’s billion-dollar barge was launched and immediately began to sink.
He will continue to throw vast amounts of money at advertising, but it will disappear below the waves by summer. This Bloomberg disaster raises questions that no one is asking about enormous sums of money for political advertising in either billionaire’s campaign.
The general assumption has always been that massive advertising campaigns can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Yet there is a long history of massive advertising campaigns that failed. The reasons for failure are numerous but come down to not meeting the needs that they claimed or simply “believing their own bullshit” as the old Hollywood producer warned. New Coke set the standard for that.
The massive sums donated to the Trump campaign from billionaires looking to get covered for past or future crimes are frightening and depressing. However, Trump is still a mentally dysfunctional bully and low order criminal surrounded by small order criminals. One look at him spouting lies and gibbering nonsense can quickly negate several hundred million dollars in advertising.
I think more people in the US now realize we have no one else to blame if we allow stooges and criminals to buy us. That took a while, but I sense that people are waking up and are tired of being bought cheaply. The stakes with climate change and Trump’s consistent fulfillment of the very worst fears of not learning anything fro impeachment make it clear that this is not a game. We will see, but I think the American worm has finally turned, and that neutralizes a lot of money from greedy billionaires.
It was just Bloomberg’s bad luck that his barge was holed below the waterline by Warren just as this was happening. While public realization can nullify lots of advertising money, for Trump that money will go to buying people, judges, and Russian misinformation campaigns that are already in place. That is dangerous but we have all come to know what Trump and his Republican stooges are now. It’s hard not to understand how corrupt this thing has become.
We are now seeing is the Trump equivalent of crossing the Rubicon. Trump has, stupidly, committed himself to open criminal acts, and there is no turning back from that. Going crazy on pardons for criminals convicted for large scale corruption identical to the impeachment charges against Trump is not going to be ignored.
Trump’s worsening mental condition makes it impossible for him not to enrage people by shoving his ‘wins’ down everyone’s throat. I sense that he has already gone too far, and his desperate running from one rally to the next for howls from his stooges shows that.
The psychopathic mind, with no empathic sense of anyone else, can never stop lying or attempting to control reality. Blowing up at the intelligence briefing on the Russian GRU election interference was not a smart move. Removing anyone with any knowledge from the management of all US intelligence agencies to hide Russian interference is about as blunt an admission of guilt as you can have.
The Republican followers now have no choice but to deny reality and keep denying what everyone can see. We are already seeing weak efforts to identify Russian interference on behalf of Sanders. Big lies eventually become too big except for the weakest minds. Trump’s pathology requires him to push everyone to the point they can no longer suspend their disbelief. His pattern is to destroy them then and find new people. But that only works with relatively small groups. Even people who have written off the entire US political system will rebel at what they are asked to swallow in the end.
That is where I think we are now. Trump is beyond any gains and is now destroying his base. That he can do nothing else in his condition makes no difference.
