This is an excellent suggestion. In the same vein I made the suggestion in 2016 that to restructure the failed political system the Democratic Party should designate itself as the Conservative Party. It is a legitimate corporatist and economically conservative party without illegal misogyny, racism, and xenophobia. This would allow the option of a true Democratic Socialist Party clearly addressing public ownership of essential human services and public funding for innovation and environmental survival.

By all international standards this would bring the US political system into alignment with much of Europe and other post industrial states. The current absurdity is a fascist, racist criminal organization being allowed to claim political party status leaving only one functionally conservative party for everyone else. This is what is blocking the great majority’s demands for truly progressive and social democratic services.

The result of this is appearance of someone such as Biden as the lead candidate for the Democrats in the early primary while the true democratic socialist candidates are officially ignored.
