This is an excellent and conservative review of the rise of China against the accelerating decline of the US both internally and internationally. We can, at least, hope that China avoids the trap of militarism in its rise to power.
One area that wasn’t mentioned is the focus of China on Africa. That is not without missteps and cultural clumsiness but it seems to recognize the rapid rise of Africa as a 21st century center of human development.
As usual the US has dealt with Africa as a region for yet more military control. Another case of a dominant empire becoming locked in desperate efforts to recreate an old concept of greatness.
