This is a positive statement and, even, more or less true. If we have the time it could succeed as a true reaction to a hateful reaction. The normal back and forth with incremental progress has been the general rule.
As you suggest and we know, the problem is a relatively small minority. My estimate is under 30% and that will drop as people are faced with Trump’s criminal indictments and the official findings. We have always been able to rely on people following their political representatives when those people acknowledge major crimes. That’s the test of what you say.
The complete collapse of the Republican Party is beyond anything I know of historically. The people there must act for justice or this will become ugly and violent. Will they? Can they? We have have too many indications of Russian funding and control and that is a brutal game.
The Democratic Party is only slightly better but has an injection of hope with our young and diverse Congress people. They are refusing to be cowed. We need to support them against their own corrupt leadership. Then they could lead the return to hope for all of us.
