The Worst Has Happened
We’re sinking into the primordial mud of incipient insanity weighed down by idiocy. The load of daily information contains so much imbecilic shit that we would be sinking if we were standing on solid rock. But we are not on rock and there is apparently no bottom to the mud we are in. The situation is so extreme that I am driven to listicle writing.
The ultimate absurdities list until next week (or maybe tomorrow) when new depths will be found:
- There is some sort of uproar about the NFL. I was all for players refusing to stand for the national anthem in protest over racism in this country but now I have no idea what is happening and whether or not your supposed to watch NFL games or not. While I gave up football last year due to the level of physical damage to players, it doesn’t mean much to me, but I would like to know who I’m supporting since I don’t watch football. If I know who’s claiming me as support if I don’t watch the damn games I can at least correct people who make an assumption about something that I don’t do anyway.
- No one ever explained to me in school about the asshole Francis Scott Keys. Nor about the asshole song he wrote during the stupid War of 1812. The thing was caused by an idiot US government attacking Canada and then getting their ass whipped. Should have learned from that. All I knew was the nasty British burned down the White House. No one told me that it was military units made up of rescued US slaves that did the burning. Nor that the stupid song was about all the slaves being killed for wanting freedom. No wonder this country is now certifiably insane. Let’s get a new one.
- How did we get another asshole like Tom Price in a cabinet position? And told him he could lease private jets on tax payer money when he wanted to take a vacation? The person who caused this needs to be put in a bad place for a long time. Oh, that’s right, Trump. As I said, put him in a bad place for a long time.
- Speaking of Trump, how many weeks has it been since the hurricane destroyed Puerto Rico? People are dying, food is, I hear, rotting on the docks, the federal emergency services are chaos, and Trump is congratulating himself when he is not taking cheap shots at football players. This is insanity. Ok, we know the man is mentally incompetent but, still, why do we have to put up with this and hear about people suffering?
