The problem of education is defining the purpose of education. Obviously education for information delivery declined in viability through the 20th century. Beyond elementary education providing basic information skills and common knowledge, the need became critical analysis and integration.

That has been known and ignored for the fifty years that I have been professionally involved in education. The assessment monster has ensured the death of education other than as a low-level sinecure requiring only simple numbers tied to assumed ‘performance’. No actual education is required.

That Amerian civilization has collapsed should not be surprising. Cultural growth, in hard times cultural survival, requires original thinking and serious innovation. Innovation and the creativity required for it is now strictly a Venture Capital term for originality in extortion.
