The Idiot Gibbers #1
This is the first of an occasional series on the more spectacular and frightening gibberings of the resident idiot with which we have been saddled. That the man is grossly incompetent even before his mental decline is no longer a question. While we have a growing number of mental health professionals who feel compelled to warn of the dangers presented by people with the symptoms exhibited daily by Trump, no one has yet been willing to remove and confine him. Instead he gibbers on with the authority of the larger military empire in the history of the planet and the support of most corrupt political party in US history.
My point here is to show the specific delusions that the most clearly dangerous. Since Trump has been rattling his cage and making wild threats against North Korea, and anyone else that he thinks will get him a audience, we need to look at the reality of the toys that he thinks are so cool. The first example comes from Quartz | Obsession today:
What are the odds that US defenses can stop a nuclear missile attack?
- “A limited capability to defend the U.S. Homeland from small numbers of simple intermediate-range or intercontinental ballistic missile threats launched from North Korea or Iran.” — Department of Defense Office of Operational Test & Evaluation
- “It’s at least as good as a coin toss.” — Trey Obering, the former head of the Missile Defense Agency
- “A 25 percent chance of a head-on collision with the attacking missile, but most experts believe the true performance to be much lower.” — Dr. Bruce Blair, former nuclear launch control officer and anti-proliferation activist
- “We have missiles that can knock out a missile in the air 97 percent of the time.” — Donald Trump, president of the United States
