The greater loss really is the loss of meaning. Absurdities and blatant lies receive the same courtesy as truth. Facts are laughed at and scandal is the only quest but the scandals overwhelm us and are, themselves, meaningless and so thin that they have almost no value. Even anger dies when all meaning has gone. We have created a profound silence that has replaced all the shocking noise and that I have not even the beginnings of an idea how to fix. . .
