The Burning Question Remains

How long will the pretense continue? The United States, still the richest and most powerful nation, has allowed a mentally defective, failed scammer to hold the office of President for almost three years primarily due to the failure of the political system, foreign interference, and criminal corruption of one of the two national parties.

Vast resources have been expended since November 2016 supporting the pretense that this is, somehow, normal or, if not normal, a relatively minor screw up in the long, national, administrative history. And this will be easily corrected in another election . . . or two. Maybe three? There is still the problem of illegal control of a number of state governments through gerrymandering allowing the US senate to be controlled by the criminal organization and court packing allowing any electoral corrections to be denied. We don’t talk about that.

That this is a complete and utter disaster has never been publicly acknowledged. For the first year there were general themes revolving around ‘adults in the room’ and ‘rising to the office’ that were quietly dropped when both proved to not happen. A large number of indictments and, finally, verdicts leading to prison time was thought to be the beginnings of a cure, but no. Increasingly dubious people continued to move into high positions, make fools of themselves, then leave or simply slip into a dark corner behind a potted plant and hunkering down for extended periods of time.

Most names have disappeared as I can’t recall anyone on the Presidential staff now except Sarah Huckleberry who has been hiding behind a plant for so long she appears green. She seems to appear every few weeks to repeat a particularly horrendous Trump lie or outrage for some reason. She certainly adds no credibility. I’ve come to think of her as a lonely individual imitating a Greek chorus foretelling doom by chanting, “No obstruction, No crime”. But with no art or history in the Trump regime this seems unlikely.

There once were attorneys, even in Trump’s White House, but they all seem to have resigned. There are no new ones that are announced but there is a steady line of departures. Have they run out? The next stop after the White House seems to be prison.

The exception to this seems to be Rudy Giuliani who has a potted plant next to Sarah’s although he appears less often and then walks back whatever bit of ridiculousness he had just stated. The latest seems to have been an illegal trip to Ukraine to seek help in manufacturing some kind of conspiracy about Biden. This was walked back and canceled so fast it barely made the news. So why announce it?

I’ve begun to think that Rudy is running a kind of scam on Trump, turn about is fair play, and immediately announces whatever dementia Trump asks him to do counting on it being blown out of the water before he ever has to do anything. At the same time, he can count on the completely mindless beavers of the mainstream media will parroting whatever nonsense he says splashing it across all America making it true for those without a dictionary. It seems to be working, the federal pay checks keep coming, and lies become truth. What more could you ask? The wonders of KGB style misinformation.

But this has got to end. The pretense is so thin it is almost transparent. Only Trump and his most mindless followers believe it. Even the mainstream media has begun to shorten explanations of Trump’s utterances by simply saying that he lies. The next step will be to admit that he lies constantly.

Some Congressional Republicans are starting to mutter as the tariff insanity begins to bring down the planetary economy and destroy their aging, white voters. Trump’s sudden and idiotic threat to Mexico is so far over the line that even Republicans are choking on it. And the steady stream of outrage from Trump is, low and behold, illogical and rarely attached to reality. Huge weapons sales to Saudi Arabia is confusing the Israeli lobby. Wait, what?

Still the dance goes on. The media people work overtime trying to pretend that the attack on China makes some kind of sense when it is totally self destructive and complete idiocy. Ok, China is eating our lunch and doesn’t always play fair. Right. We ate their lunch for two centuries but that doesn’t count. Most of the planet is not sure of Xi but they see Trump on the news everyday in full ignorance and advancing dementia. Hmm, which should we side with?

The problem is that the sudden slapping fit toward Mexico is just because Trump is racist. To actually impose tariffs will cost the US thousands of jobs while costing US taxpayers millions and this is not going to change the numbers of Central American refugees fleeing the mess that the US helped make there. Even the American media was forced to say that everyone still left behind the potted plants in the White House tried to talk Trump out of this.

Trump’s dementia has been on the road first in Japan and then in Great Britain. Two thousand years of tradition in the Japanese imperial family and Trump was so obviously scared shitless that the Empress had to whisper to him to actually raise his glass for the toast but he didn’t need to really drink.

Trump was befuddled by his Japanese experience and that was the intent of Prime Minister Abe who has been working Trump as hard as he can to drag him away from Kim Jong Un. Of course Trump needed to be protected from seeing the destroyer John McCain. The costs of dealing with an idiot in a powerful position are very large. And very embarrassing.

It was the usual case of Trump walking around befuddled as no one but the imperial family wanted to deal with him. Abe sent him to a sumo tournament with a giant trophy but opted not go himself. It’s the imperial family’s job so they had to do it as gracefully as possible. The Japanese imperial family is very, very good at pretense.

The British royal family did their duty also even though Trump was delusional and seeing worshipers where there were none. Given the level of British satirical humor it became open season on him as subtle digs and, the Duchess of Cornwall’s, well timed wink behind Trump’s back were the high points of Baby Trumps trip.

This is where it gets bad but, as always, ironically, only the people in America who are actually aware of the rest of the planet are forced to watch the idiot being worked and laughed at. Internationally the pretense is no longer supported. The idiot Trump is the laughing stock of the planet. How do you recover after that?
