With the act of seating a political pawn and an accused sexual predator to the Supreme Court nominated by a known sexual predator under investigation for diverse criminal activities, we have no choice but to see the existing government as in opposition to the majority of the American population. As the power for this government is from the people and the elected and executive divisions of the government are in opposition to the majority of this population, action now is directly in our hands.

What other recourse do we have?

What does this mean?

It is critical that we take action to prevent further consolidation of power in denial of human rights and human decency. We must block action by this illegitimate government by any means until the government can be replaced by one under control of the population and that adheres to both the constitution and to, stronger, international standards of rights.

Government illegitimacy

This is now beyond the bounds of the existing political system as it has proven to be incapable of preventing a growing range of illegal actions by those controlling the executive and legislative divisions of the government. The electoral process is seriously corrupt with manipulation to suppress or distort voting by all citizens. This includes open voter suppression by deleting minorities and others from voter roles, extreme gerrymandering in some states, and coordination of foreign media manipulation to distort the election process to expand and illegally hold power.

List of crimes

The aggressive and blatant attack on the Supreme Court follows a continuous line of illegal actions from the assumption of power by Trump. These actions include the creation of a secret police organization identified as ICE that has been used to kidnap both citizens and long term residents and refugees seeking asylum from communities and families. Premeditated kidnapping of children from parents and construction of prison camps in which to retain these illegally taken children, unconstitutional utilization of public agencies and facilities for personal gain and illegal use of government services also for personal gain.

The entire structure of money laundering and illegal use of foreign military services to support the assumption of power has been under investigation for two years. The indictment and, in several cases, guilty pleas of Trump campaign officials and advisers provide an extensive indication of criminal activities suspected to be brought at charges against Trump and individuals in positions of authority. This has already been provided in extensive detail by the Mueller Investigation Committee.

Triggers for action

Actions cannot be taken on rash assumptions of the complete dysfunctionality of the current system until those assumptions can be adequately confirmed by the majority of the population. But it is critical to understand that the electoral system is corrupted and dysfunctional in many areas due to voter suppression and gerrymandering and is under the control of an illegitimate power structure. This is also due to structural failures that have been manipulated illegally.

Nevertheless the results of the November 2018 federal election must be taken as a major indicator of a salvageable federal and state electoral system. The results of this election may not be valid but that can only be determined by monitoring and post election analysis.

International monitoring of the election must be assured with direct presentation of all information and analysis. If the current government retains full power the assumption must be made that the results have been corrupted. International monitoring will help to determine this for the majority of the population.

If the results appear to support the current government and are judged to be legitimate then a logical line of action is to begin the break up of the union on the basis of state decision. If there is a majority in support of the attacks on rights and decency then there is no choice but to allow states or regions to remove themselves from an abusive system.

If the maintenance of power by the current government is suspected of manipulation then the choice must be made as to whether to disband the union or enact a public citizen constitutional convention to work through basic structural changes to protect the populations under attack.

The final decision on the validity of any part of this process must be made directly by the people. The continuous monitoring of opinions and positions by all elements of the population is not yet formalized but is the best indication of the people's positions until legitimate voting or electronic measurements can be implemented to replace the current corrupt system. We will need to say what we think and what we want. That is the future.

We must hold and retain the right to deny suspected illegal acts by the forces that hold our government hostage. This does not need to be any type of violent act but the simple right to be publicly heard on our national social networks. This is new but this is the source of real democratic power.

We have the most serious attacks on our system of government since the mid nineteenth century. If we cannot take control of this situation directly I don’t think there is any hope. We have seen that nothing will restrain the current destruction of our government. Now is the time.
