Talking to people is very easy although the pinkish white ones can be difficult. Saying anything outside the careful, narrow boundaries of our shrinking common world is increasingly difficult because our language is evolving. Words are becoming homanyms. Same sounds but different meanings. The confusion leads to more fear and anger. Half the population is struggling to change words to eliminate racism, misogyny, and oppression and half can’t magine how words can change. Besides those words of oppression are their symbols of power. And if not their personal symbols of power they are the symbols of others in their family and their community. If those words are changed or go away those peope will be like everyone else. How can that be?

The structures of political power use these differences as weapons. Not all political systems do this but the tattered remnants of American system has almost nothing else left.

It’s good to keep walking and talking. The evolution of language is integral to social change and has changed the majority. The criminal conversion of political structures into systems defined by ignorance and hate is extracting a terrible price but the price will be paid. The question is what will be left.
