Still the Same but Starting to Break
Trump is running out of people to throw under the bus and the bus is stuck in reverse

Yes, here we are again. After two weeks of anticipation, faked summation, faked exoneration, growing Trump regime panic (the only thing not faked), massive redaction, misdirection masquerading as a press conference, and the final complete reduction of William Barr into a toady, things are very much the same as they have been.
We have the most corrupt regime in US history still in office, an insane, narcissistic criminal pretending to be president, a massive Russian social media campaign ramping up for next year’s election, and most everything in shambles. This thing has a weird life of its own.
The market continues to go up with the massive tax cuts being used to buy back stocks while all the people who should have had refunds discovered they had serous tax bills instead. Our economy has also become a lie.
Things continue to degrade and the lies fall apart within hours if not immediately on utterance. The second national political party no longer hides its dedication to the destruction of the democratic system. More money for the 1% is all that matters. With the person in the White House publicly calling for violent attacks against Congressional representatives it would seem increasingly difficult not to begin impeachment proceedings.
That is the largest change. The excuse of the establishment cohort, the Democratic Party in this case, has been avoiding the “disruption” of a full presidential impeachment. That only works if there is enough question on the acts of the president to muddy the waters. But that is a scale that can tip the other way when the majority decides that it will be a greater disruption NOT to impeach the criminal.
Despite Barr’s throwing himself on the Trump bomb we are much closer to that tipping point. And this is only from the 60% that wasn’t blacked out in the Mueller report. We now know that Barr worked through the report with Trump and this was the least damaging stuff to show. I suspect that they really couldn’t do more than 40% redaction and have any hope of anyone accepting that as “not a coverup”.
The only true statement that Trump has made in well over two years was “I’m fucked” on appointment of the special prosecutor. The fact that Trump’s statement was not redacted is stunning.
One additional thing that has changed is the inclusion of William Barr on the list of those to be indicted for lying and abuse of office. This should produce some interesting television as he is brought in front of the judiciary committee on May 2nd. I suspect that, as he has destroyed his own reputation and credibility, he will resort to blatant and open lies in the style of Sarah Huckleberry Sanders.
At least we now know that she admitted some of her lies and apologized in testimony with Mueller. That was a rare glimpse of something vaguely like remorse from the groveling goons who surround Trump. Oh, I forgot, Cohen made a full admission of guilt. I guess we should be happy for what little there is in the way of ethics once the rope goes around their necks.
The drama will begin as soon as Mueller makes room on his calendar to testify. The blatant and desperate attempt to sideline the Report and Mueller with it has, as usual, backfired with the potential for huge collateral damage over the next two weeks. I suspect that Barr before the judiciary committee on May 2nd may well be a grim dessert to a bloody feast.
In the midst of all this was a small but awful crime. Mueller appears to own this with his unwillingness to go outside of the bounds that desperately needed to be breached. That crime was the failure to indict Trump Jr. based on the assertion that he may not have understood that he was committing a crime in his Russian meetings.
I would really like to see a list of all the young POC folks who were allowed to forego indictment, trial, and sentencing because they may not have understood that they were breaking the law. It was always my understanding that ignorance of the law was not an excuse. And I don’t really care that everyone in the Trump family is dumb as a stump.
So, we are back to where we have been but with official confirmation of numerous Trump crimes. We knew all of this before but now it is so official that it is scary. The massive Barr suicide mission has managed to make Trump’s survival even less likely. The action is fully in the House of Representatives now and the last reason not to fire a full broadside at the shoddy and leaking Trump row boat has gone up in the smoke from William Barr’s self-immolation.
The scheming and deceitful American political system is still in control while the old white folks play both sides and both parties. But, at least, we now have our own revolutionary young Congresswomen who will take no shit from old white men. And given the growing threats on their lives they may decide not to take any prisoners. We can hope.
