Somehow, now, it all seems more real than it has for years. We’re in the chaotic fog of an even larger paradigmatic change and maybe that’s what makes me link back to first wave in the sixties and seventies.
As an early boomer, the first inklings were almost harmless: folk music, Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul and Mary, early Dillon; coffee shops and Alan Watts on Zen.
Yes, they couldn’t stop us trying to stop the War but we were exhausted and we couldn’t break the capitalist hold. So we joined it and tried to do subversion inside but it was a complete reenactment of Hesse’s Siddhartha. Then twenty years went by.
All the great milestones, Berlin Wall falling, USSR collapsing, 2001, were all markers on a road we could not escape. And the speed kept increasing and evil more obvious so you had to really work at reorienting toward how close we are to what we dreamed. But the evil pulls us down and people fall to the lure of lies and greed.
But somehow it evolving and no one has control. Those that claim to are hopeless bullshitters and idiots. It took decades to turn ignorance and naïveté into evil bullshit. But the poison kills.
We shall see as it will change very quickly now.
