Over the years I’ve usually managed to ignore stories like this and not intrude. But times they are a changin’ and there is a lot of cleaning up to do if we are going to survive the damage that we have done to our planet and to ourselves. One of those areas of intense cleaning is, I think, the old religions. They need to be gotten out of the way to allow the development of a shared spiritual awareness that we have neglected for quite a number of necessary reasons.
My only point here is that your friend obviously was justifiably frightened of religionists that she thought she needed for some reason. That seems to have resulted in here having to work things out for herself. The simplest message for her would be, I think, recognition that she was much healthier than the troubled religionists who were giving her grief for absolutely no reason. Mythic tales and personages may be used with great care but it is almost never helpful to create lies, i.e. mythic beings, to get in the way of spiritual awareness. This has created thousands of years of pain and suffering. What limited helpfulness these things once provided are simply no longer viable.
The problem your friend experienced was artificial. The answer is our own awareness of the nature of the universe of which we are significant components. We are now able to scientifically understand just enough of the structure of the universe to begin to see that is inherently, in some manner, the source of all physical and spiritual potential. As in science Occam’s razor is the key. The simplest answer is closest to the truth.
