My point is that morality ceased being a standard by which to judge political action. I think that occurred under Reagan. Greed and power, always foundational pieces of the American model, were enshrined as sacred and sole virtues. Ironically this has led the population in general to rediscover evolutionary ethics and mindfulness. Hence the Congressional rating at 10% approval and that is considered unfortunate but acceptable by the remaining political parties.
