Let’s See if We can Make Trump Do Something Stupid

There is no good end to this but we can, at least, experience the short term pleasure of accurately predicting the wreck. Of course it’s not just a wreck but an ongoing and building sequence of trainwrecks. The richest and most powerful nation of the three, maybe four regional superpowers (if you count India) will take a lot of wrecking to destroy.
At each stage the lack of organized political resistance, beyond token demonstrations, has allowed illegal actions to be accepted and normalized. We are now operating in something like hypernormalisation. There is nothing imaginable that can happen that isn’t immediately accepted by our media as the new ‘normal’. We have given up law, contracts, truth, science, and common sense is so far gone no one even knows what it looks like anymore.
College textbook examples of insanity are simply noted as ‘normal’. These bizarre and irrational acts are simply noted and ignored without comment. The oldest and most respected media publications now handle bizarre claims, racist hatred, and absurd nonsense as just another part of the national discourse. And here is the white supremacist perspective . . .
Several million aging, white racists popping opioids like breath mints, and chanting hate memes from three years ago (the last thing they can remember) is now the only electorate that matters. But they don’t matter other than as white noise soothing the desperate and irrational leader.
“LOCK HER UP!”
“Wait, who is her?”
“Her, stupid.”
“Ok, LOCK HER UP!”
This is the base of an irrational and criminal leader and one of the two, allowed, political parties that is, now, indistinguishable from any other organized crime syndicate. The other is led by aging and frightened politicians unable to visualize anything other than seeking some political advantage as defined from their youth. This has produced near complete dysfunctionality in the face of an open authoritarian and racist coup. But this is all just normal.
The official national narrative is the only silly fringe people who don’t understand real politics in America are the only ones making a fuss. This is how America works. All sides are presented and there are no standards. Hate rallies with calls for more concentration camps and removal of anyone in opposition are what presidents do now. Wreckage is the latest thing in landscaping. That’s our old constitution over there in the ditch.
This has been progressing at high speed. We all know it but no actions are allowed. The youth of the planet are taking it into their own hands because they will suffer and die in the accelerating climate crisis but America cannot even remove an insane ruler and a criminal regime. Failure to act is not how you deal with insanity. Failure to act means more and more insanity. It feeds on itself and grows.
This has been compartmentalized as an American problem while the world population watches in fear and amazement. America can’t have fallen so fast. The sane people in Washington will make sure no international craziness happens. That was the hope but that is now gone. As is the pattern with hypernormalisation, insane acts start small and laughably and then grow. There is no policy in insanity but only bigger and bigger acts to defy everything but personal power.
The Trump crew (now very small, why is that?) got made fools of in play with North Korea, tried to create a war in Venezuela but it was too complicated and the people refused to play along, then attacked China with tariffs that, of course, will devastate the already teetering American economy, Mexico was again threatened with tariffs for not supporting America’s crimes against humanity. Take that, Mexico. See if you can beat our count of kidnapped children in cages.
Having lost interest in Central America, the China thing starting to get too complicated and scary, Trump was aimed back at Iran. With no one else left and most international and defense positions empty the comedy duo of Bolton and Pompeo has full control. With Trump’s insanity he only remembers the last things said to him.
Neither Bolton nor Pompeo are particularly bright. Pompeo doesn’t have a clue and Bolton has been struggling all his life to start wars. His interest is in starting them. Someone else’s job after that. These are the kind of people that should never be in any position of authority. Needless to say this is the core of the remaining Trump regime.
In a sequential array of stupid moves Iran has been isolated, bad mouthed, threatened, nuclear agreements thrown out, and it is rumored that Bolton has taken to farting in the general direction of Tehran. This is the level of foreign policy understood by these people.
Iran is not a nice government but it is a regionally powerful country, well armed, and with experienced religious fanatics in their military. Not surprisingly the rapid escalation of military presence by the US led to some funny explosions on oil tankers blamed loudly on Iran. Anyone with more than rudimentary knowledge of American foreign policy, military, and intelligence history over the last seventy years was embarrassed by shoddy work.
Someone was paid to “attack” two large oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz with limpet mines or smallish rockets or both. There was a fire on one tanker and some general confusion. Who did it? Who knows? Does it matter? No, they were either paid or acting on their own interest. Were they Iranian? Maybe. Were they representing the Iranian government? Probably not as Iran is not a likable government but they have more credibility now than Donald Trump. That is not saying much.
The US increased the flight of drones to taunt the Iranians to do something. The historical pattern is to dance along the official airspace boundary with reconnaissance missions and nudge the line. The Iranians know the game very well and decided to slap down an unmanned drone. And, yes, things are much more civilized now as we can use unarmed, but expensive, drones so not one gets killed in the skit.
Outrage. Not exactly a large outrage but in their inexperience Bolton and Pompeo got Trump to launch a real attack against target in Iran to get blood. Trump, of course, was stupid enough to do this until someone, and this is the real question, called him off. Perhaps the comedy duo got scared when they were being laughed at by everyone else. More likely Trump panicked as it was happening because he might look bad. We will probably never know.
That Trump was allowed to actually order a series of military strikes against Iran was beyond belief but that he got scared and called it off at the last minute was so ridiculous that the details of this leaked immediately. This should never have happened but if it was allowed to launch and then stopped, a plan was needed to cover everyone’s ass so the US would not look like the big, stupid, cowardly bully that it now is.
The people forced to work with this idiot are giving up or this would not have leaked so fast. It could have been buried. But why try? The idiot will tweet about it anyway and start lying and everyone on the planet will roll their eyes and laugh. And that is what is happening now as it quickly comes to light that no one knew what the fuck they were doing.
There is pride here but at a real world level having made an immensely stupid mistake internally is far worse when the tiny bit of credibility still surviving is completely destroyed. Trump is well known as an incompetent, liar, and bully but is now very clear for everyone that he is a total weeny. The dude is fair game for anyone that wants to play him.
Hey, everyone, let’s all take turns and see if we can make him do something stupid and then shit his pants.
The man and his ignorant sidekicks need to be removed, now. Impeach! Better yet, lock them up first. This is not a political game. We will be better off with no one at the top than the current layer of corruption and incompetence.
