Jack, you are describing much of what I have been thinking but didn’t want to say. There are massive forces at play now, technological, historical, and social with new cultural forms emerging. As always these can lead to wonders or horrors but probably some mix of both. The question is how to tell what is happening and how to counter the worst of it while protecting the best. But we may not be able to identify the next because iy is new and very different from the old.
