It’s right before our eyes
But we will not see

There is a lot of hope going into this midterm election although the results are well known before any votes are cast. The most that can happen is a possible change in the House of Representatives. And that will be close.
This is all that will happen despite the most incompetent, corrupt, and blatantly criminal regime in US history with a rigged majority for a party that has no polices except greed and extortion. People casually admit that this party’s gerrymandering has allowed a minority party in obvious decline to hold power with little chance of correction. How can this be?
Stop and think about that for a minute. Planet wide the extent of the incompetence and danger to this planet and all its inhabitants is covered daily. The only preventing out right panic and outrage, is the need for reserve required by this being the regime of the world’s most powerful state. Mind boggling is an understatement.
Much is being made of special elections in states that were strongholds of ignorance and Republican corruption electing a few Democrats. This includes any Democrat who managed to get close to the locked in holder of the seat in those states. Wow, the system works!
Bullshit. The system is so completely broken that the critical states in question will have no problem minimizing any minute restraint that might arise from the selection of an equally corrupt Democrat. In most cases the people actually elected will act in exactly the same way cowering before the oligarchs who rule. These people are jokes. Their future is endless corruption and then endless golden eggs as K street lobbyists for the status quo.
But the economy is booming. Right. The great majority of people in this country are living pay check to pay check desperate to hold onto a job that includes some medical coverage and a 401k that will disappear, again, in a flash when the market collapses. World trade is up and that is bringing up stock markets everywhere. This is the long term results of two decades of open trade. The liberal mantra of open trade works very well but only for those with great wealth. How do we fix that? Not by destroying trade.
The only benefits the majority of people in America have had is the flow of consumer goods, clothes, electronics and expendables. That drives the market and bloats the oligarchies' bank accounts. We need to reduce that to save the planet but no action will be taken. The only benefits are things that we don’t need. This is so fucking distorted it’s hard to comprehend.
Too many people have bought the lies that started decades ago. We’ve lost what we need because the gain over the last forty years have gone to oligarch’s pockets while no investment was made in us, the people of this nation. No free education, no healthcare, no return on our work for a comfortable retirement. We actually had that with pensions plus Social Security but that has been plundered by the thieves who took control and decided there was no such thing as shame.
So what do we do? Wait for the end. On one side are many people who appear to be in the same state as I in fear and amazement and in the middle some number who are totally committed to accept whatever happens as inevitable because there is nothing else and a minority who are warming up for lynching's and whatever we will call Trump’s Kristallnacht.
Everyone is fighting over the Russian manipulation of the election. It doesn’t matter. Yes, Trump is owned by Russians and grovels at Putin’s feet but that’s because he bought Putin’s plan to make himself ultimately rich and powerful. Read the history of Putin and the transition from emerging democracy in Russia after 1992 to a bizarre fascist nationalism laced with religion with only Putin in charge. Sound familiar?
We are going to pay a terrible price for being stupid and then refusing to believe our own eyes. That’s the old KGB game. Don’t believe your own eyes because nothing is real and nothing is true.
That is where we are right now. The corruption is spreading.
