I think you have a long wait for an answer to your question. The people that I know, family and others, who support Trump and his regime have no clear reason. Most would claim that the economy is great and that is all that matters to them. Ok. That was an incredibly shortsighted reason for support but it is a moot point now, in any case.
In my case, relatives that I know did support Trump and Pence, are very quiet about it for the last year. Some of them repost the usual Fox propaganda, all conspiracy theory-based, on Facebook but make absolutely no attempt to explain why things that are happening are good rather than disastrous.
An occasional troll will leave a short denunciation on Medium but they are almost always empty egg accounts and appear to be examples of personal problems than any actual substantive disagreement on some policy.
I actually worry about this. Three years there was a group of accounts that would reliably denounce the positions that I took but they would be data-driven logical arguments. On several occasions, my own research supported their argument. Often these were statistical arguments and those are very tricky to deal with but were informative none the less. Those people, several of which I was fairly sure were Russian or otherwise funded, are all gone.
In my experience that was the end of all rational Trump regime support. Fox has only low grade, third-stringers compared to RT.
This doesn’t answer your question. Maybe as we get closer to the election Putin’s Russian Times crew will raise the standard of discussion here again. I hate to say it but the only Trumpsters I know as real people are good folks but wouldn’t know a logical argument if it walked up and bit them on the ass. Their church tells them what to think and who to hate and that is the end of the story.
This does not bode well.
