Back in the late ’70s and through the ’80s I taught World History as an adjunct and would do a class session on Jaynes each time I taught ancient history. I have long been fascinated by it as many others have. I kept it as one of several ‘alterative histories’ that taught to give young students something strange to think about.
As for Jaynes, yes, there is something there. I think that we are both, not yet ready for what is hinted at and Jaynes was shooting in the dark and only had a shadow to target..
