As a Vietnam veteran and a person who actually lived without the internet for more than forty years, you are almost totally correct on what life was like. I would only add the millions of missed dates, failed romances, and lost business deals that resulted from traffic jams and no way to text anyone. This did lead to people spending even more time in bars meeting with other people drinking over being stood up or not getting jobs due to bad communication. The bars came out ahead.
