An excellent article. The realization that the capitalist stage of our history is collapsing is increasingly difficult to ignore and those that try appear more and more irrational. I think this is the reason for the very clear and open choice that powers Bernie Sanders against Hilary Clinton in the US. Give it up and see what happens or try to keep it going at the risk of greater human suffering. And this explains the implosion of the Republican Party. They have no option but rage and hatred as they are the stage that will be replaced. I’ve framed this by American political choice but, of course, we are facing this planet wide. All of our institutions are defined in relation to the capitalist system so there is no escape or isolation from traumatic change. On a positive note we are, for the first time in history, trying to work through a major historical stage transition semi-rationally without brutal conquest or violent, contagious revolution. In the end the very nature of the failure of capitalism, greed and the vast hoarding of capital as the criteria of moral good, has reduced the number of the super rich to a size that is helpless when people refuse to be purchased. Their power is only vast sums of money that ceases to be powerful when greed is no longer good.
