American Exceptionalism

There is a price to pay for allowing bigoted idiots to gain control of an organization. Normally that means the organization does not have long to survive. For a nation state the implications are far worse.

Any organization taken over by idiots and bigots will fail due to incompetence and fade away or implode from internal vendettas. If there are usable assets they will be sold off and something may be made of them.

Nation states become failed states. Failed states are the domain of ever worsening scum as anyone with any resources leaves. The pretense of ethics, decency, or any type of planning for a common good is lost to greed and vicious jealousy. The real tragedy is the fate of those without the ability to leave. They become slaves, drudges or dead.

Failed states gravitate quickly to a chronic, low level, gang war status quo. The only thing of value are weapons. Money stolen or extorted is quickly turned into an armory. Heavily armed, semi-literate dudes strutting around with nothing else to do is an early symptom of a failing state. In a fully failed state these are the only people to be seen.

Take a look at one of Trump’s ‘rallies’ and you will see the cancerous cells of a failed state. The areas that Trump feels safe to go and to call out the scum who follow him are still localized. These are malignant regions that have become deadly to the body politic but the malignancy has not metastasized.

It may still be possible to clean out these areas and save the population from the horrors that they are bringing on themselves. The cleaning could still be done by a good dose of open democracy. We might call it ‘demotherapy’.

Unfortunately ‘demotherapy’ is effective only if they have not gained the power they need to destroy the rights of citizens. Where they have destroyed the democratic process ‘demotherapy’ cannot work. If they cannot be voted out completely the prognosis is the loss of all hope with a rapid descent into a failed state.

Everyone, I think, has now seen what happens to the people infected by ignorance, hatred, fear. The Republicans who control Congress have an ingrained hatred for truth and fact. They live in lies and willful ignorance to disguise their crimes. They are white supremacists and other forms of evil as they hate everything that is not of their form and their form must be pure.

Some will deny this but only until they have no need to lie and feel safe to show their true form. And, no, they are not just citizens who picked up different ideas. They no longer recognize a common good. Their good is only for the white billionaires who feed them and who they want to emulate without regard for anyone else.

Present them with the truth of what they are and they will squeal and rage and declare themselves victims of everything that they do. If they wiggle away crying and begging for mercy, they quickly become vicious and even more destructive. Kavanaugh displayed all the characteristics of these human vermin. Trump is an advanced form of the disease.

These are not people that you would want to have anywhere around you or your family. They are still human but very sick and dangerous. They will need to be isolated and kept powerless. Perhaps with age some will recover if the conditions that fed their infection can be removed.

If ‘demotherapy’ fails we will know that in next month. Then surgery to remove the diseased areas of the nation state is the only remaining option. This will probably kill the nation state but new nation states and metropoles will rise. Separating the most diseased regions, not surprisingly these nearly mirror the slave holding confederacy, will allow several powerful new states to emerge and play leading roles toward a new planetary alliance. The removed sections will then have their freedom to descend into failed states or else learn and recover. We must always hope and be ready to offer aid in the later case.

Predatory capitalism must be eliminated. Greed is not a virtue and profit does not justify any crime. The prime goal of any nation state is the maximum well being of the weakest citizen. The secondary goal is the maintenance of the greatest diversity. The final goal is the sustainability of the planet and its biosphere. All sentient beings are equal and all life is sacred.

This is the mission statement of planet Earth.
