Ah but time does march on. This is a nice essay on the slow process of change within inherently rigid institutions. Unfortunately for the institution it has lost all credibility and has little or no hope for survival.

The widening gap between the minority represented by the ossified institutions of the US Congress and Executive and the majority struggling with economic failure, political collapse, and the steadily growing disaster of global climate change is structurally impossible.

Yes, the aging white men who represent themselves, are scared shitless. Trump is frightened of his own shadow but learned always to curse and attack as the only defense. Sadly for those old boys who, in desperation, hitched their creaking carts to Trump’s rattle trap, smoking truck there is no longer a useable road to the future.

I don’t think there is an option to wait for another three or four election cycles. The aged and ramshackle structure is becoming a health hazard and danger to the planet and all its people.

I’m now betting that if we don’t clean this up within the next two years others may decide to clean it up for us. The role patriarchy is tied to white supremacy, bigotry, and fossils fuels. The latter is the primary funding mechanism for these old gentlemen. They are struggling to maintain that also.

Money talks in their world and they need to have their money removed.

Diversity is what power collaboration. Team building is not just a feminine characteristic but what we need as a species now. That evolution will replace money and many other things as we evovle quickly to survive.
