A depressing but logically written diatribe. You are absolutely correct. That 35% for reasons having to do with the failure of this system and corruption that consumed the Republican Party, that number represents, I think, only about 20% or less of the population. They managed to pull down 300 million people and destroy the foundations of the country.

Because they are, mostly, what you say they are, they are beyond recovery. I don’t want to live in a country that allows people like that to take control. Their ignorance and hatred are now incredibly dangerous for this planet. We can no longer allow people to make these mistakes.

How do we deal with this? The most humane answer is to allow those states with a predominance of these people to go their own way. This will be a disaster for them but I hope we can isolate them until reality forces a change. Unlike them we should always welcome those who ask for asylum.

At this stage of our history I think this is a hard lesson that must be learned.
